On November 15, 2022, the workshop between the Support Team of Chuantang Town, Dongyuan County, Zhuheyuan City, China and the Lions Club of Shenzhen, China was held in the small conference room of the Lions Club office in Shenzhen, China. Chen Guanyou, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Chuantang Town, leader of the Task force, and Deputy Director of the Office of the Working Committee of Shenzhen Municipal Government, China; Xie Xiuxiao, cadre of Shenzhen Disabled Persons’ Federation, member of the Task Force; Ou Keying, cadre of Shenzhen Yantian Port Group Co., LTD., China; Peng Daojian, president of the Shenzhen Lions Club of China from 2022 to 2023, Guo Yongyong, the last president, Tan Fei, the second vice president and Zhou Wenpei, Secretary-General of the club attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhou Wenpei.
Secretary General Zhou Wenpei and Section Chief Xie Xiuxiao introduced the leaders of the two sides. Secretary General Zhou Wenpei extended a warm welcome to all of you and shared the development history and operation mode of the Shenzhen Lions Club in China.
Mr. Chen recognized the public service spirit of the Shenzhen Lions Club and highly commended the achievements made by the club in the field of public service. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Shenzhen Lions Club for their support to the Quantang Town in Dongyuan County, Heyuan City and his high respect to the lions for their love and dedication. He expressed the hope that through this exchange, we can establish a long-term and close cooperative relationship and jointly contribute more to the public welfare and charity cause.
The leaders of the support team of Cunantang Town, Dongyuan County, Heyuan City respectively introduced the weaknesses of Cunantang Town in education, disability assistance and medical treatment. They hoped that by virtue of the advantages of the Lions Club of Shenzhen, China, in terms of its wide coverage, large number of audiences, lasting service and various ways, more efforts would be devoted to helping Cunantang Town, passing on love and improving people’s happiness.
Tan Fei, the second Vice president, introduced the concept and service activities of Shenzhen Lions Club. He said that he should carry out a field trip to Cunantang Town, Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, in-depth research to understand the needs of Cunantang Town, combined with their own abilities, to achieve accurate help.
Guo Yongyong, the last president of the Shenzhen Lions Club, said that the charity services of the Shenzhen Lions Club are diversified, rich in content and beneficial to a wide range of people. Through the in-depth exchange of the forum, the connotation of the charity services of both sides has been enriched.
Peng Daojian, Chairman of the Shenzhen Lions Club, said that the club has always adhered to the leadership of the Communist Party of China, adhered to the road of a new type of social organization with Chinese characteristics, and accepted the supervision and guidance of the competent units. The relationship between the Lions Club of Shenzhen China and the people of Heyuan has a long history. He hopes that through this exchange, we can discuss and learn from each other, promote the cooperation between the two sides, and bring more care to the people of Heyuan.
The two sides conducted in-depth communication and exchanges. We spoke freely, offered suggestions and formed a profound friendship.
After the meeting, the support team of Cunantang Town, Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, presented the gold flag to the Shenzhen Lions Club of China. President Peng Daojian returned the lion souvenir and the leaders and guests took a group photo.
